2024 Campaign Summary

There are primary elections in fourteen (14) election districts (EDs) across Brighton, with progressive candidates backed by Justice for Brighton challenging a coalition of centrist Democrats who oppose diversity, inclusion, and equity in Brighton. At the bottom of this post, you can find links to election summaries, organized by ED.

If you are a Brighton Democrat and do not know whether there is a primary in your neighborhood, go to the Monroe County Voter Application, fill in your surname, address, and birth date, and click “Get Voter Info.” Once your record is located, the tool will show:

  • Your district as “450xx” where xx is the election district – the sample below is from ED34;
  • If a primary is being contested in your ED, click on “View Your Ballot” on the left to view a sample ballot; (if no sample ballot is available, there is no primary in your ED)
  • Your polling location, which is valid only on Tuesday, June 25. If you want to vote early, you can vote at any early voting location through Sunday June 23 – click here for locations and hours.
